Ofcom has published its proposals for the new Telecoms Access Review 2026 (TAR), which it hopes will improve competition and investment in gigabit-capable networks, maintaining the competitive landscape created by the preceding Wholesale Fixed Telecoms Market Review 2021 and go further to promote better outcomes for end-users.

JSM Group has been granted Ofcom Code Powers to improve its client offering by simplifying processes, particularly for power cable trenching and infrastructure projects.
As part of JSM Group’s sustainability and environmental commitments, this new status allows the company to install duct and fibre during power cable trenching works. This delivers cost savings to clients, while offering greater flexibility for network access and use.
Dave Fennessy, Comms Managing Director, JSM explained how the Powers will help future growth plans by diversifying their client base to meet their expansion plans: “It will further complement our ambition to continuously improve our service offering(s) for both the client and public.”
The electronic communications code, as part of the Communications Act 2003, grants rights to streamline the installation and maintenance of electronic communications networks.
