toob is rolling out its full fibre service to residents across a total of seven more counties in the UK, as part of its strategic partnership with CityFibre.

Openreach has connected over 85,000 premises to broadband across Dorset after completion of its ultra and superfast rollout in the area, in collaboration with Dorset Council.

New economic research by Cebr shows Openreach’s digital upgrade could generate £4bn for Scottish economy by 2029 and help reverse depopulation, with half of Scottish residents now able to connect to broadband – thanks to £435m investment in the nation’s new network.

Openreach is continuing to roll out full fibre to rural areas, including villages in the Tyne Valley where 1,500 residents are now connected just months after joining the company’s Fibre Community Partnership (FCP) programme.

GoFibre is teaming up with Angus Council to hold an information event for Forfar residents interested in better broadband, at a special community drop-in event at Forfar Indoor Sports, on 27th January.

CityFibre has begun work to connect more than 57,000 homes and businesses across areas of East and West Sussex to full fibre broadband as part of a £108m Project Gigabit award.

ITS’ Faster Britain bus has reached its final destination, marking the end of a year-long roadshow journey to highlight the importance of gigabit-capable connectivity to UK businesses and communities across the UK.

Wessex Internet has connected its first customer in South Wiltshire as part of an £18.8 million contract awarded by Project Gigabit, bringing faster broadband to around 14,500 residents across the region.
