CityFibre has completed the primary-build of its full fibre network in Havant, Westbourne and other surrounding areas, allowing over 22,000 homes in the region access - around 98% of premises - making it one of the best-connected locations in the UK.
Fern Trading-backed Giganet has announced plans to add a further 22 areas to its existing partnership with CityFibre, with the altnet aiming to connect 1.8 million homes in the south of England.
The expansion will see Giganet take its total areas covered to 27, adding Bath,"Bournemouth, Bracknell, Brighton & Hove, Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge, Chatham & Gillingham, Cheltenham & Charlton Kings, Chichester & Arun, Eastbourne, Gloucester, Ipswich, Lowestoft, Maidenhead, Norwich, Peterborough, Poole & Christchurch, Slough, Southend, Weston-Super-Mare, Worcester and Worthing to its gigabit broadband rollout.
Jarlath Finnegan, Giganet CEO, said: "Our latest expansion with CityFibre will allow us to connect more homes than ever across the UK, with access to the best full fibre broadband."
Giganet recently received £250m in funding from Fern Trading to commence work on its own full fibre broadband network.
