CityFibre has completed the primary-build of its full fibre network in Havant, Westbourne and other surrounding areas, allowing over 22,000 homes in the region access - around 98% of premises - making it one of the best-connected locations in the UK.

Glide Group is continuing to upgrade its legacy network technology at BT exchanges across the country to improve hardware, reduce electricity consumption and increase speeds.
Working with its network architects the company has identified BT exchanges comprised of legacy technology from its previous acquisitions of Cablecom and Warwicknet with the intention of replacing the energy hungry and limiting router kits.
Network Architect Lee Jones said: “As technology continues to evolve, it is critical for network architects to ensure that the infrastructure can keep up with the changing demands of today's digital world.
“Replacing routers in BT exchanges is a necessary step to not only improve bandwidth capabilities and increase system features but also to drive energy efficiencies and support sustainability efforts for a greener future.”
These upgrades integrate Glide’s efforts to reduce carbon footprints with the annual increase of circa 15% on network demand.
