The latest figures from the National Farmers’ Union reveals that farmers are being left behind because of the high cost of installing full fibre broadband in rural areas, according to a story on the BBC.

More than 5,000 additional homes in Whitby can access Virgin Media’s full fibre speeds of 2Gbps for the first time.
Whitby residents can now sign up to broadband using Virgin’s services that are now available to more homes after work to bring full fibre connections to the area were completed.
nexfibre is investing £4.5bn to deliver high speed FTTH connections to five million homes across the UK by 2026.
The altnet provider has already reached a total of one million premises passed and ready for service.
nexfibre is a joint venture between InfraVia Capital Partners, Liberty Global and Telefónica, and Virgin Media O2 is the anchor tenant of this, providing build services to nexfibre.
Taken together, nexfibre and Virgin Media O2 will cover up to 23 million premises or around 80 percent of the UK later this decade.
