James Gibson Fleming, founder of Wessex Internet, has been awarded the honour of MBE for four decades of dedicated service to charity, community and business in the King's 2025 Birthday Honours List.

Virgin Media O2 has launched a residential 2Gbps broadband service, Gig2, and introduced symmetrical download and upload speeds across its speed tiers as an optional add-on.
Initially, this will be available across the nexfibre network, which includes London, Cardiff, Milton Keynes, Sheffield, Manchester and Glasgow.
Gig2 was initially trialled last year and is powered by XGS-PON technology and will operate on a full fibre network.
Jeanie York, CTO at VMO2, said: “Our latest speed venture will unlock opportunities for future technologies and the ever-changing digital needs of our customers.”
