Connexin has secured £58.6m in government funding to roll out full fibre to 34,000 rural properties in Nottinghamshire and west Lincolnshire.
Project Gigabit
Five new Project Gigabit contracts have been awarded to CityFibre totalling over £394m of government subsidy.
Wessex Internet has begun network construction in Martin and Whitsbury, to kick-start its government-funded contract across the New Forest.
Connect Fibre has been awarded £33m of government funding to bring full fibre to 17,000 local homes and businesses in rural Derbyshire including villages and hamlets in Eckington, Hulland Ward, Shirley and other areas.
BDUK has awarded Project Gigabit contracts in Oxfordshire and north east Staffordshire to Gigaclear and Connect Fibre respectively.
CityFibre has awarded its first round of contracts to build partners for delivery of its Project Gigabit rollouts in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Hampshire and Suffolk, covering 715,000 rural properties.
Project Gigabit currently has a total of 27 live procurements, covering a total of over 780,000 premises.
GoFibre has begun work on its Project Gigabit contract to connect more than 3,750 hard-to-reach homes and businesses in the northern parts of Northumberland.
CityFibre has been awarded three new contracts under the government’s Project Gigabit programme, totalling £318m in new funding.
Freedom Fibre has been awarded a £24m government-funded Project Gigabit contract to roll out fibre to 12,000 homes and businesses in Shropshire.
